The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the tgiinsurance.com website, on the telephone, by mail or in our physical office location.  The information we collect may be personal of nature and can include names, dates of birth, social security numbers, credit card numbers, financial information, information about household residents, employment history etc...  We reserve the right to use the information provided by you to to obtain consumer reports, including but not limited to: motor vehicle records, claims history records, financial information, credit reports, and condition or maintenance of your property.  Such reports are only ordered to the extent that they are deemed relevant in conjunction with your application for quote, insurance or servicing of your existing policy.  Any consumer reporting agency that gathers information about you may share this information with others who are authorized to use consumer reports by the Fair Credit Reporting Act or by state credit reporting acts.

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you provide about yourself and others when applying for an insurance policy, in obtaining a quotation of an insurance policy or other related products we offer, or in servicing your existing account. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete quotations, application for insurance, service your existing policy, or as required by law.  TGI Insurance may use your information to obtain estimates for related products you may be interested in but have not specifically requested (such as also quoting your auto insurance when you only requested a homeowners insurance quote).  As TGI Insurance is an independent insurance agency, it is often necessary for us to share information about you to a number of our insurers, brokers, and managing agents as it relates to obtaining an insurance quote or servicing an existing insurance policy.  TGI Insurance takes reasonable steps to ensure that entities to which your information is shared will also treat your information with the same level of confidentiality and respect for privacy as we do.

Other ways we may use your information can include: doing what a court or government agency requires us to do, telling another company about you if we may be selling any part of our business or merging with another company, or giving your information to someone pursuant to your prior verbal or written authorization.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties except as described above.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

Consumer Reports

Consumer reporting agencies are independent and impartial.  They provide information to others in the form of consumer reports.  They do not make decisions related to the insurance you have applied for or have with us.  You may obtain a copy of your consumer report by contacting the consumer reporting agency directly.  If you contact the consumer reporting agency within 60 days of any denial or change in premium as a result of the consumer report, the report shall be furnished to you free of charge.
